Smart Plugs & Power Strips

Do LinkVolt smart products require a separate hub?

Electrical & Outdoor Safety

Can I exceed the wattage or amperage shown on the product?

No. The combined load of all connected devices must remain within the voltage, amperage, and wattage rating shown on the product and its product page.

Can I connect one power strip or extension device to another?

No. Do not daisy-chain power strips, outlet extenders, smart plugs, or extension cords. Connect the product directly to a properly grounded outlet and follow its stated load limits.

Can indoor LinkVolt products be used outdoors?

No. Only products specifically identified for outdoor use should be used outdoors. Indoor smart plugs, wall taps, and power strips must be kept dry.

Is the LinkVolt 40329 outdoor smart plug waterproof?

It is designed for outdoor use under its stated weather-resistance conditions, but it must not be submerged. Keep connected plugs protected from standing water and use a properly grounded GFCI-protected outdoor outlet.

What does a 1200-joule surge rating mean?

Joules indicate how much surge energy a protector is designed to absorb over time. The LinkVolt 30617 provides 1200-joule surge protection. Replace a surge protector if its protection indicator shows that protection is no longer active.

Should the 30 ft cord reel be fully unwound during use?

Yes. Fully unwind the LinkVolt Y2507260-4 cord before applying a significant electrical load to reduce heat buildup, and do not exceed its 10A / 1625W maximum rating.
